Disney's upcoming animated movie "Planes", to be released on Blu-Ray/DVD on fall of 2013. Yes, that's right, only on Blu-Ray & DVD.
Planes began as a direct-to-DVD spinoff of Pixar’s Cars, with the story focusing on skybound anthropomorphic vehicles. The “comedy packed with action and adventure” centers on a small-town crop dusting plane who longs to enter an epic around-the-world air race. As you can see, the plot owes much to the story of Cars and Cars 2.
The movie has a similar vibe to Disney/Pixar’s “Cars,” but Pixar is not involved in the project. Characters in the movie are voiced by Jon Cryer and Brad Garrett.
